Carrier Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for freight carriers and local couriers, managing pick-up windows and resolving transit delays. Cost Optimization: Secure competitive freight quotes and optimize shipping routes to reduce total landed costs. Documentation & Compliance Paperwork Accuracy: Generate and audit all shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL), packing lists, and international commercial invoices. Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous digital and physical records of receiving manifests to ensure pinpoint inventory accuracy. Quality Control: Verify that all outbound packaging meets carrier safety requirements and client-specific kitting standards. Inventory & Warehouse Integration WMS Tracking: Reconcile physical counts of incoming raw packaging materials against POs in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with kitting and assembly departments to prioritize outbound shipments based on carrier cutoff times. Claims Management: Handle the claims process for any "short-shipped" or damaged materials, coordinating with vendors and insurance providers. Communication & Reporting Real-Time Updates: Provide tracking updates and Proof of Delivery (POD) to internal account managers and external clients. Process Improvement: Identify and report bottlenecks in the fulfillment cycle to the Operations Manager.
