Compensation

Salary range: $63,688 - $100,668

Overview

The employee will be responsible for managing employee security and property protection at all bus depots/subway yards and New York City Transit facilities in the five boroughs. The incumbents will maintain a customer service-oriented organization responsive to property protection concerns within the Department of Buses or Subways. In addition, this employee will assist in the prevention and detection of vandalism and may care out fare enforcement, including issuing of summonses.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and issue work assignments to supervisors and Property Protection Agents. Evaluate post coverage and recommend staffing requirements for area of responsibility.
  • Oversee the protection and detection of vandalism, carrying out fare enforcement, including issue of summonses.
  • Maintain contact with depot/yard managers and facility managers concerning security.
  • Distribute Property Protection Agent Post Orders. Post orders list security procedures, duties, responsibilities and schedules of patrols for each assignment.
  • Perform administrative functions for area command: blotter, memo books, sick forms, payroll directives, orders, etc.

Education and Experience

  • Baccalaureate in Business Administration, English or a satisfactory equivalent and seven (7) years of related experience; two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited college.

Desired Skills

    • Knowledge of NYCT rules, regulations and procedures concerning property protection, security and/or Industrial plant security procedures and security systems.
  • Knowledge of investigative and surveillance techniques.
  • Experience in the security field and ex experience as a supervisor in transit environment’
