We currently provide ocean freight, origin management, and customs brokerage for these accounts. The scope is expanding to include a new origin consolidation program in Vietnam. You will be the primary U.S. point of accountability, coordinate the right internal and international teams, keep the customer informed, and drive issues through resolution. You will not personally execute every operational task. You will own the outcome, communication, escalation, and follow-through. After the initial portfolio is operating consistently, the role may assume responsibility for additional strategic accounts and help refine and formalize Transmodal’s account management playbook. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, you will work closely with the Leadership and internal teams including: Freight Operations; Pricing; Billing and Finance; Technology; the China and Vietnam origin teams; and key client stakeholders. *WHAT YOU WILL DO* · Own day-to-day service questions, shipment exceptions, data or visibility issues, customs questions, and billing concerns from intake through resolution. · Coordinate Freight Operations, Customs, Pricing, Billing and Finance, Technology, and our China and Vietnam origin teams to resolve issues and correct root causes. · Represent U.S. customer requirements during the Vietnam origin consolidation implementation and maintain the action, decision, and risk log. · Maintain the account plan, stakeholder map, escalation path, open-issue log, meeting cadence, and quarterly business reviews. · Track service and commercial health, including volume, service levels, exception trends, response and closure times, revenue, gross profit, and margin. · Keep account activity, commitments, risks, and opportunities current in the CRM. · Identify retention risk and qualify expansion opportunities with Growth, Pricing, and Operations. *WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE* *FIRST 90 DAYS* · Learn Transmodal’s core systems, workflows, reporting, and established account-management processes. · Build strong working relationships with Operations, Customs & Compliance, Growth & Strategy, Pricing, Billing and Finance, Technology, leadership, and the China and Vietnam origin teams. · Learn the client’s key stakeholders, distribution-center requirements, service expectations, communication preferences, and priorities. · Review the existing account plan, issue and risk logs, performance reporting, quarterly business review materials, and Vietnam implementation status, then transition into day-to-day ownership without disrupting service. *LONGER-TERM SUCCESS* · The customer has one knowledgeable, trusted, and accountable U.S. contact who provides proactive updates and follows through. · Internal and origin teams coordinate effectively, service issues close promptly, and recurring problems decline. · The Vietnam origin consolidation program consistently meets U.S. distribution-center requirements and service expectations. · Service and financial health are visible, the relationship is retained, and qualified growth opportunities are advanced with Growth, Pricing, and Operations. *REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS* · At least 4 years of account management, key account management, or customer-facing logistics operations experience within international freight forwarding, an NVOCC, customs brokerage, or import logistics. · Experience serving as the primary customer contact for a complex importer, shipper, or strategic logistics account. · Practical working knowledge of ocean import freight and U.S. customs brokerage processes, plus familiarity with origin management or consolidation and logistics systems. · Strong issue management and follow-through. You track open items, close loops, and keep customers informed without being asked. · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, professionally, and confidently across customers, vendors, and internal teams. · Ability to work Eastern Time business hours and occasionally join early-morning or evening meetings with teams in Asia. · Commercial judgment, including an understanding of volume, revenue, gross profit, margin, and relationship risk. · Authorization to work in the United States. Transmodal is unable to provide employment sponsorship for this role. *A college degree is not required. *Relevant industry experience, judgment, ownership, and communication ability matter most. *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* · Experience leading quarterly business reviews or structured account reviews. · Experience managing KPIs, SLAs, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action plans. · Experience with shipment-visibility platforms, warehouse management systems, ERP integrations, CRM systems, or workflow automation. · Working knowledge of air freight or trade compliance. · A track record of retaining and expanding existing customer relationships. *COMPENSATION* Base salary plus performance incentives tied to account retention and growth. *WHAT WE OFFER* Transmodal offers a competitive benefits package designed to support our employees’ health, financial well-being, and work-life balance.
