Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishes positive lines of communication with school community members;
Composes letters, memoranda, reports and other materials often of complex, confidential or difficult nature; (residency requests, trespass, etc…);
Opens, reviews and distributes incoming mail;
Maintains office files and a variety of office and personnel records (medical, FMLA, sub-teacher);
Maintains office records and statistics using database or spreadsheet software; (co-curricular appts, tenure, longevity, retirement;
Processes necessary information for Board of Education meetings;
Processes and organizes Policies and Regulations and attends Committee meetings;
Prepares reports of Superintendent disciplinary hearing proceedings and monitors regulatory timelines;
Assists in maintaining the Superintendent's calendar and scheduling meetings;
Schedules and arranges meetings, conferences, retreats and appointments and assembles and coordinates background material, and takes minutes (DLT, ILT, etc...);
Assists in the preparation of reports by assembling data, contacting officials for information, and arranging such information in a logical fashion; (Board Reports, Falcons of the Month, Hall/Wall of Fame);
Utilizes a personal computer and software programs including spreadsheets, databases and publishing (nVision, BoardDocs, Parent Portal, ParentSquare, Global Compliance Network, Frontline Absence Management, NYSIIS for immunizations);
Screen callers and visitors to determine the nature of the inquiry, answers questions on established policy and procedure and/or refers to appropriate party or office;
Completes additional duties as requested by the Superintendent.
8 - 4:30pm and 7 hr days in the summer months
