Security Officer

Expected Salary: $1,472.91 semi-monthly plus a 3rd shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. Years of service adjustments, shift differentials, and other targeted salary payments are applied to the total compensation of your paycheck and are subject to eligibility requirements of the appropriate differential.

Job Location: This position is located at Bellefontaine Habilitation Center (BHC), 10695 Bellefontaine Rd., Saint Louis, MO 63137 providing security and protection for BHC campus. Working hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with Friday and Saturday as off days. You are required to work holidays if they fall on your regular work schedule. (Please be advised that this position requires training on first shift and two weeks of training on second shift prior to working third shift.)

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

What you’ll do: This is first-level security work accountable for protecting public property and equipment against loss or damage from theft, fire, vandalism, or other causes, and maintaining order and proper behavior of individuals and groups for a state facility. Implements lockdown procedures within a residential unit and provides escorting/transportation as needed. Some duties include patrolling grounds and buildings inside and out, requiring varying work and climatic conditions. Preparing reports for any activity from the shift.

Qualifications - All you need for success

All you need for success as a Security Officer:

• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Organized, dependable, and possessing good communication skills.
