Description

The Ohio Adjutant General’s Department is seeking a highly skilled, service-minded professional to serve as an Agency Information Security Professional 2 on the IGIS team within the Adjutant General's office. In this role, the Agency Information Security Professional assists the enterprise security office with the secure configuration of agency computer networks and systems by planning, implementing, upgrading, and monitoring security measures according to enterprise level practices at Department of Administrative Services (DAS).

The preferred candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. They will also demonstrate a proven ability to collaborate across teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Coordinates and administers the agency's information security program
  • Serves as the agency's Security Point of Contact
  • Monitors the agency's compliance with state-wide IT policies
  • Coordinates security and incident response

Qualifications

48 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

  • Or completion of associate core program in computer science; 30 mos. trg. or 30 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science; 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

  • Or completion of graduate core program in computer science; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Agency Information Security Professional 1, 69991.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. Job Skill: Cybersecurity

Supplemental Information

This position is assigned as a pay range 35 of the State of Ohio’s OCSEA pay schedule, with a starting hourly rate of $ 41.81 and current range up to $ 61.49 per hour. Starting pay is usually at the minimum of the range unless otherwise required by law or union contract, or unless the selected candidate's qualifications warrant consideration above the minimum. With continued employment and satisfactory performance, employees generally advance to the next pay step after six (6) months and then annually thereafter. Cost-of-living adjustments are typically applied on July 1.
