Job Summary:

The Office of the Registrar is seeking an Assistant Registrar, Veteran & Military Compliance. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE),
12-month, professional faculty position.

Academic Operations (Office of the Registrar, Curriculum Management & University
Accreditation) is a mission-critical Oregon State University unit that supports student success from admission through graduation and

Assistant Registrar - Veteran & Military Compliance is a member
of the Compliance Team in the Office of the Registrar, reporting to the Associate Registrar for Compliance. This position is responsible for
developing, implementing and adhering to a compliance program focused on Veterans Administration (VA) education benefits, federal and state
tuition assistance programs, and university tuition programs. The role requires strong collaboration across the institution, adaptability in
a dynamic environment, and the ability to navigate ambiguity. This position is essential to ensuring compliance with VA and Department of
Defense (DoD) education benefit programs that support student success at Oregon State University.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Track, research, and develop compliance controls around federal and state legislation related to Veterans Administration (VA) and
Department of Defense (DoD) education benefit programs

2. Administer certification for VA, DoD, state, and university education
benefit programs

3. Coordinate with the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs, five branches of the military that support tuition
assistance, and OSU's Offices of Student Accounts and Financial Aid

4. Direct and oversee the work of the military student services
specialists and help staff resolve complex certification problems using independent analysis and judgment

5. Present to incoming
students at New Student Onboarding sessions and assist with annual commencement related activities and ceremony

6. Attend regular
team and Academic Operations meetings and participate in university or professional organization development activities or conferences

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, and two years' experience
    working with federal and/or state regulations related to program eligibility, certification, or related compliance function.
  • One
    year of supervision experience.
  • Experience advising and/or instructing the public concerning specific programs or processes,
    monitoring programs, or performing participant reviews.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated
    effectiveness in collaborating, communicating, and building relationships with stakeholders who have various identities, cultural
    backgrounds, communication styles, and expectations.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position;
therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University
Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history
checks every 24 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate or advanced Excel and report writing
    skills.
  • Banner experience, or large information system experience.
  • Ability to work within an environment where ambiguity and
    the ability to pivot quickly are commonplace.
  • Experience training or providing instructions to staff, students, or similar
    stakeholders.

Working Conditions/Schedule:
Typical office environment with a Monday through Friday, 8:00
am-5:00 pm work schedule.

Salary Range:

$59,500 - $67,000
