The Opportunity

Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, you will focus on optimizing their imports, rail, and truck transportation networks. responsibilities:
Your main goal is to keep our client's product moving efficiently, on time, and at the best cost.
Transportation Management:
- Coordinate and track all regional shipments (imports, rail, and truck) to guarantee timely customer delivery and maximize asset use.
- Ensure the company maintains the right amount of product to meet demand. Verify and maintain system (SAP) accuracy for inventory and month-end reporting.
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and actively look for ways to cut costs. Manage and maintain all logistics contracts and rate databases.
- Act as the primary link between the company's manufacturing/terminal sites, sales team, customers, and shipping carriers.
- Help onboard and train new Logistics Specialists, ensuring consistent, high-quality standards.
qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years in supply chain, inventory control, or logistics management. Experience with rail transport or industrial materials (like limestone or cement) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and planning abilities.
- Advanced Excel required (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, sum-ifs)
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. SAP experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
