Georgia-Carolina Council of Scouting America is seeking a proactive, relationship-driven District Executive to lead local efforts in growing financial support and expanding Scouting membership across our community. This is a key leadership role—ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a mission-driven environment and enjoys building strong connections with families, businesses, and civic leaders. You’ll work closely with the Scout Executive and a committed network of volunteers to help secure the future of Scouting in our region. Reports to the Scout Executive Duties include, but are not limited to: Fundraising (Primary Role): Work with VP of Fund Development to develop and execute an annual council fund development strategy. Share this plan with staff and district finance committee volunteers at an annual Finance conference to be held between August 1 and October 15 annually. Working with VP of Fund Development, other volunteers and professional staff build and engage a council fund development team to focus on the five areas of financial support. Lead the annual Investment in Character fundraising campaign including goal setting, donor cultivation, presentations, and follow-up. Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, local businesses, civic groups, and foundations. Plan and execute fundraising events (banquets, golf outings, Gala, etc.) Assist the Scout Executive in grant writing and sponsorship proposals for targeted needs. Membership: Collaborate with district volunteers and units to recruit new youth and adult members. Assist with recruitment efforts in schools, churches, and community centers. Support units with marketing materials, sign-up nights, and membership drives. Promote Scouting through community outreach and local media (social, print, and broadcast). Program: Serve as staff advisor for a variety of programs / activities annually. Assist with District Committee and Commissioner Staff operations. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 2+ years in fundraising, nonprofit management, sales, or community outreach preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable presenting in front of small groups and engaging with community stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a resource-limited setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred Attributes: Familiarity with the Scouting America programs and values. Experience in community engagement. Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
